The following are typical issues you may face when configuring VXLAN:

  • Incorrect VTEP VMKNic teaming policy
  • Incorrect VLAN ID for VTEP
  • Incomplete IP address for VTEP
  • DHCP is selected for the VTEP VMKNic IP addressing but the DHCP server is not available or is unreachable
  • VXLAN was installed on the ESXi host but not cleaned up properly and requires a host reboot
