3 Methodology

3.1 Measurement of variables

Our study selected Mitchell’s 11-item scale to measure entrepreneurial cognition, and the scale includes the prepared cognitive and ability cognitive. Measurement of entrepreneurial intention used He Dan (2006) research results that entrepreneurial intention divided into two dimensions: entrepreneurial feasibility and entrepreneurial desirability. According to the actual needs of our study, we chose a single dimension measurement scale to measure entrepreneurial decision (Simon, 2000). This study used a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, and assumptions derived from the literature review and empirical analysis results from the questionnaire survey. The five-point Likert scales are used with each item being rated on a 1 to 5 “strongly disagree” to “strongly agree” response.

3.2 Sample selection

In this study, the questionnaire survey is to the new generation of migrant workers who were born after the 1980s in Jilin, Heilongjiang, Shandong, Hebei, Shanxi, Fujian Province and was done between October 2014 and March 2015. The primary data collection methods are paper questionnaires and questionnaires star. In our study, wedistributed 200 questionnaires, 182 were returned, 163 valid surveys, and the response rate was 91%, the effective rate was 81.5%. In the sample, male accounts for 52.6% while female accounts for 47.4%. In the age distribution of the investigators, the number of people aged 24 to 34 accounts for 95.8% of the total sample, and people under 24 years old accounted for 3.2 %. In the aspect of industry distribution, service personnel accounts for 29.5%, office workers or secretary accounts for 24.2%, vocational training at craft and technician accounts for 14.7%, the number of construction workers and contractor accounts for 12.6%. Thus, most of the new generation of migrant workers are engaged in basic work. However, some changes have already taken place; there are a few technical workers. This shows that there will be more young entrepreneurs.
