With the great support of the whole nation, the primary design and construction of the Three Gorges Dam have been accomplished on schedule after 17 years of perseverance under the leadership of the Central Committee of the CPC and the State Council. The dam has a maximum of 175 meters （574 ft） water level above sea level and is benefiting the country in many aspects such as flood control, electricity generation, shipping, water supply, etc. The cities and countrysides in its reservoir region have embraced dramatic change, so has the living standard of millions of relocated residents. Now there is a vast lake hidden in mountains that help make shipping more convenient; there are broad fields where people cultivate their future; there are lovely cities and towns in which people take joy. The Three Gorges Dam project is a miracle brought by Chinese people that draws the whole world's attention and reflects the spirit of bringing about a rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Thanks to those discerning photographers, the change and development of the Three Gorges Dam reservoir region have been objectively described by this unique art of an amazing soundless language demonstrating the soul of "recording the era and portraying the people". This album reveals pictures of great beauty and great love, an epitome of China- specifically the Three Gorges region pursuing scientific and harmonious development, and a portrait of the relocated residents who've presented patriotism and dedication when striving together for the greater good. It shows rich achievements after 17 marvelous years of resident relocation work, and profound brotherhood between local residents and the whole nation. Every single "historical moment" indicates the felicity that CPC brought to people, the people's extraordinary talent and the superiority of socialism.

Right now, the Three Gorges Project is in the crucial time that we inherit the accomplishment of resident relocation and carry forward the construction of a stable and thriving society in the region. The local governments are now focusing on the all-round, coordinated and sustainable development of the region. Harmony is the theme in China. 乐业——户外天堂

我去广西乐业搞科考探险报道，专家总会给出一系列数据，有一组.最引人关注——空气质量。专家在大石围天坑景区，测定那里的空气质量是：每立方厘米含负氧离子达10万个以上。一般来讲每立方厘米含负氧离子1万就已经有治疗作用了，“10万”是个什么概念？据说像王府井那样人群聚集的地方，空气质量每立方厘米含负氧离子只有几百个，长期生活在这些空气质量很差地方的人到这里会“醉氧”的。

山特别清，森林覆盖率达70%以上，水特别秀，水资源丰沛，常年不衰。远离工业污染区，人为扰动较少的地方才有可能达到每立方厘米含负氧离子达10万。这个数据告诉我们：广西百色市乐业县，就是这样一处好地方。

Leye-Outdoor of paradise

When I went to Guangxi for a report of exploration and scientific research, I was given loads of data, among which the air quality statistics were most intriguing. The amount of negative oxygen ions measured within Dashiwei Sinkhole scenic spot was over 100 thousand per 1 cm3. Normally the air with a density of over ten thousand of them per 1 cm3 would show therapeutic effectiveness, then what happens when it’s about ten times of that? I heard that in extremely crowded places like Wangfujing, merely hundreds of negative oxygen ions could be detected within a cubic centimeter. People from places with such awful air quality might encounter oxygen toxicity in areas like Dashiwei.

Only places that are distant from polluted industrial areas and are barely influenced by human beings might provide such extraordinary air quality. In Leye, the mountains are always green and the water is perfectly pure. The forest coverage there is over 70% and the water resource is quite abundant through the whole year. As one can easily observe, Leye is a paradisiacal county.
